Welcome To Norrisville Volunteer Fire Company

The Norrisville Volunteer Fire Company was proudly established in September of 1994. Located in the Northwest Corner of Harford County, protecting the Mason-Dixon Line, we provide Fire, Rescue, Haz Mat and Advance Life Support Emergency Medical Services to the residence of our community. We also provide mutual-aid services to our neighboring Fire Companies in Harford and Baltimore County, as well as across the northern state line into Pennsylvania.

Norrisville Volunteer Fire Company serves approximately 2500 people living in an area of 30 square miles. We operate out of one station that protects a primarily rural agricultural area. We are 100 % volunteer and new members are always welcome.

10-50 PI First Run For Engine 1011

Norrisville Volunteers responded to a 10-50 PI at Rocks Road (Route 24) & Harkins Road (Route 136). Responding units were Engine 1011 - it’s first emergency run, Rescue 1051 & Paramedic 1091.

 Fortunately there were no injuries, the crew from Engine 1011 assisted with clean up and appeared to enjoy the first run.

The Norrisville Volunteer Fire Co. is pleased to announce we have placed in service Engine 1011, a 2010 Pierce Arrow XT, 1000 gallon water tank, 1500 gpm pump, pre-connect hydraulic rescue tools, AED and a full compliment of fire fighting equipment.
 
At an equipped cost of $ 500,000.00, Engine 1011 was designed to serve the needs of our community, Harford County and surrounding jurisdictions.


 
High Angle Rescue at Kilgore Falls

On Thursday May 20th at 1715 hours Norrisville Volunteer Fire Co. was alerted for subject stuck on the cliff face of Kilgore Falls, in Falling Branch Park. First arriving units found a 19 year old male who had free climbed about ½ way up the falls. He was uninjured but unable to climb up to the top or back down to the bottom. Command was established with Chief 10-1 as Falling Branch Command, LT 10-2 Operations, TRT 1 Rescue Operations, TRT 12 Safety, Capt. 10-9 Medical & Rehab.

Units from the Harford County Technical Rescue Team arrived and met with command  for updates then hiked back to the victim to set up for a high angle rescue. Members repelled down to the victim where he was placed in a harness and lowered to the ground without incident. The subject refused further medical transport.
 
Co. 10 would like to thank Co. 6 for responding with Special Unit 688 (gator), Co. 10 Support Services for the cold drinks and the members of the Harford County   Technical Rescue Team for their expertise in making this a safe & successful rescue. Units were on scene approximately 1 ½ hours.
 
 

 
   
   
Norrisville Volunteers Deliver Their First Baby !

On April 15, 2010 the Norrisville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a pregnancy. Additional information at the time of response was that contractions were two minutes apart. The crew of Paramedic 1091 arrive on location to find a female in active labor sitting in the kitchen.
 
Assessment of the mother reveal that the baby’s head was crowning, making delivery imminent. A healthy baby boy was delivered at 8:34 am approximately 6 pounds. Mother and baby Matthew were transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in stable condition.
 
The paramedic crew would like to commend the 911 dispatcher who remained on the phone with mom coaching her through labor until her husband and the medic crew arrived on location. A job well done to the crew of  PM 1091: Tom, Laura, Sandy, Carol

10-50 PI with Ejection

On Wednesday Evening, April 14, 2010 company 10 was alerted for a 10-50 PI with eection on Whiteford Rd ( Rt. 136 ). Paramedic 1091, Engine 1013, Rescue 1051 and Chief 10 went enroute. Based on the additional information from the EOC, Chief 10 requested aviaton enroute. Utility 1497 ( Foundation Paramedic ) was the first to arrive and had a priority 1, catagory A trauma patient and advised to countinue avitation. Company 10 units arrived and found a single vehicle that had rolled over and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. Paramedic 1091 treated the patient, Engine 1013 set up the LZ and 1051 assisted MSP at the the scene. MSP trooper 1 transported the patient to Shock Trauma. Company 10 units cleared shortly later. Chieft 10 had command.

Engine 1012 Sold To The Pattonsburg Rescue & Fire Protective District

The Officers and Members of the Norrisville Volunteer Fire Co. would like to offer our sincere congratulations and thanks to the Pattonsburg Rescue & Fire Protective District, Pattonsburg, MO on their purchase of Engine 1012.

Engine 1012 had well served the Norrisville community and surrounding areas since 1995 and will continue to do so for Pattonsburg, MO.

Working Basement Fire in Whiteford

Company 10 was alerted to respond an engine on Fire Box 609 for a dwelling fire at 1158 Ridge Rd.  Chief 6 was the first to arrive with nothing evident, then upgraded to a working basement fire.  Crews from Co. 6 made an aggressive interior attack and quickly knocked the fire. Engine 1013 was placed on stand-by for approximately 60 minutes.


 
Heavy Rain and Wicked Winds Keep Norrisville Volunteers Busy…

Early Monday’s severe weather system that moved through the area brought with it heavy rain and high winds keeping Company 10 busy for several hours.

The day started with a weather related mutual aid dwelling fire with Co. 7, then multiple pole fires and wires down calls, a transfer  / fill in to Co 7 ( they too were busy) ending up with a 10-50 PI rescue in Baltimore Co. and another wires down call returning to the station.

 
Engine-Tanker 1025 Runs Mutual Aid Dwelling Fire With Rescue

At 0315 on 1/23/10 Company 10 was alerted to respond Engine-Tanker 1025 on Fire Box 54-1 (York Co.) # 20 Church St,  Stewartstown Borough for a dwelling fire with rescue. Engine-Tanker 1025, Chief 10 and Chief 10-1 responded to the call. Company 10 units arrived to find on scene a two story, balloon frame dwelling with a working fire on the first floor with extension to the second floor & roof.  All occupants had been evacuated. The crew from ET 1025 ran lights to the interior, assisted with checking for extension, salvage & overhaul. Chief 10 was assigned fire ground operations. Co.10 units cleared at 0500.
